Cyan Chen and Yenchu Cen of the Human Trafficking Prevention Office, Good Shepherd Taiwan while here for the CSW: Commission on the Status of Women visited our Office. They work in prevention services for migrant workers and human trafficking victims in Taiwan. They were interested to learn what we have done regarding human trafficking and how we organize to do our work. Two years previously their supervisor had bought our book "Modern Slavery, "The Secret World of Trafficking of Women" at CSW 2012 and urged them to meet with us when they came to NYC.
Our Office Manager, Fiona Murray, sharing group reflections at "Sustainability through Overcoming Violence: Restoring Earth; Restoring Women", a CSW side event co-sponsored by the Network for Peace through Dialogue on March 19, at the Fordham Law School. The group reflections on her subgroup included some larger questioning such as "Why do we always view progress as good? When is progress bad and when is it good and how can we identify those distinctions?" as well as "Why do we always think bigger is better? Why can't we keep things small".
A Spirit filled, joyful Farewell Celebration was held on November 7 to commemorate 30 years, as we conclude formal operations on December 31, 2016. See pictures of the celebration and watch the below video of the people of the Network for Peace.
